Membership status is active although the membership has passed its expiration date

In some cases, although a membership's expiration date has passed, the membership still shows as active.  It should change the membership status to grace, lapsed, or expired after the expiration date is passed.

My members have the incorrect membership status but the renewal rules are set up correctly.
This is caused by a job schedule not automatically running and updating the membership status. If you experience this issue, you can create a job schedule to update these membership statuses using the steps below: 
  1. Go to Memberships.
  2. Under Tasks, click on Membership Status Update Process.
  3. Click on the Job Schedules tab.
  4. If the default job schedule says Schedule Enabled No, click Add to add a new process.
  5. Enter a job name.
  6. For Schedule Type, select Daily.
  7. Make sure the checkbox is marked for Enabled.
  8. For frequency, select Occurs every 1 day.
  9. For Daily Frequency, set a time for the job schedule to run.  The recommended time would be sometime in the night when you are not at work in Altru, so that your statuses aren't changing in the middle of the day.
  10. Under Duration, enter today's date for the process to start and select No end date.
  11. Click Save.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Go to Memberships.
  2. Under Tasks, click on Membership Status Update Process.
  3. Click on the Job Schedules tab.
  4. See the default job schedule says Schedule Enabled No.  Therefore, the nightly schedule is not running and not updating membership statuses.
