There are various ways the email preferences form will show, depending on a couple of factors.

User is not logged in:
  • Navigate directly to Email Preference Page: No email preferences options will be shown. The user will see a message similar to: "Please log in to manage your email subscriptions." Users have to log in or click on a link in an email to view the user email preferences page.
  • Imported list, User defined list or, Test messagerecipient will see a checkbox to opt out of all email messages and the email address that the message was sent to is already filled in. The user can mark the checkbox to completely opt out of messages.
  • Constituent-based query list: recipient may see the following options:
    • Communication Consent (If this is enabled on the associated Email Preferences Page
    • Constituent Attributes (If these are enabled)
    • Newsletter subscription options (If Newsletters are created)
    • Directory Opt Out (If this is enabled)
    • Global opt-out
User is logged in:
  • Navigate directly to Email Preference Page:
    • User has a username and password, but is not linked to The Raiser's Edge: The user will see a message similar to "Email subscriptions are not available for this user account."
    • User has a username and password and is linked to The Raiser's Edge: recipient may see the following options:
      • Communication Consent (If this is enabled on the associated Email Preferences Page
      • Constituent Attributes (If these are enabled)
      • Newsletter subscription options (If Newsletters are created)
      • Directory Opt Out (If this is enabled)
      • Global opt-out
    • User has a username and password, is not linked to The Raiser's Edge and is linked to Education Edge: The recipient will see all newsletter subscription options and the option to globally opt-out of all messages.
  • Constituent-based query list: If the recipient clicks the link from a message: recipient may see the following options:
    • Communication Consent (If this is enabled on the associated Email Preferences Page
    • Constituent Attributes (If these are enabled)
    • Newsletter subscription options (If Newsletters are created)
    • Directory Opt Out (If this is enabled)
    • Global opt-out
  • Imported list or user defined list or Test Message: 
    • User has a username and password, but is not linked to The Raiser's Edge: The user will see a message similar to "Email subscriptions are not available for this user account." The user will need to log out of the account, then click the link in the email in order to successfully opt out.
    • User has a username and password and is linked to The Raiser's Edge: recipient may see the following options:
      • Communication Consent (If this is enabled on the associated Email Preferences Page
      • Constituent Attributes (If these are enabled)
      • Newsletter subscription options (If Newsletters are created)
      • Directory Opt Out (If this is enabled)
      • Global opt-out
    • User has a username and password, is not linked to The Raiser's Edge and is linked to Education Edge: The recipient will see all newsletter subscription options and the option to globally opt out of all messages.
