Error: The license file for Word merge functionality is expired and the program is not able to automatically download an updated copy from Blackbaud - when performing Word merges

After applying SP8 to CRM 3.0, users may encounter the following error when attempting to perform Word merges:

The license file for Word merge functionality is expired and the program is not able to automatically download an updated copy from Blackbaud. Please have your system administrator refer to the Knowledgebase for instructions, or contact Blackbaud Support.
If using CRM 3.0 SP10 or above:

To resolve this error, a user with the appropriate system rights to update the virtual directory where Blackbaud CRM is installed must download the Aspose.Words.zip file from https://www.blackbaud.com/files/support/downloads/bbec/aspose.words.zip and replace the existing file in the virtual directory’s bin folder.  Typically this is .\bbappfx\vroot\bin

Tip: We recommend you update the file during non-peak hours because the change will interrupt work that is in progress. To avoid interruptions and allow the application to update the file automatically, configure your server so that it has internet access to https://www.blackbaud.com/files/support/downloads/bbec/aspose.words.zip.

If using CRM 3.0 SP8:

To resolve this error, a user with system admin rights on the workstation that is getting the error message needs to place the aspose.words.zip file in the C:\Windows\Temp folder of the machine. Make sure that thie IIS User account has full rights to the zip file.

New note:
This zip file will also work in the 4.0 environment. The entire zip file needs to be moved over to the vroot/bin and deployed. Once deployed the zip file will unzip and the DLL will deploy.
