Blackbaud ended its support of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on March 31, 2010.   For more information see Knowledgebase Solution BB592364

You cannot upgrade directly from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2012.  You must first upgrade to an intermediary version that is support by Microsoft.   Microsoft SQL Server 2012 supports an upgrade from the following versions:
  • SQL Server 2005 SP4
  • SQL Server 2008 SP2
  • SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1
