No PDF is generated - when clicking Preview eCard or PDF version on a Donation Form

When clicking the Preview eCard or PDF version hyperlinks in a Donation Form part that includes eCards, no eCard preview or PDF version may appear when the Donation Form  meets certain criteria.

If the donation form also includes a required Gift Attribute field, and the corresponding Gift Attribute in The Raiser's Edge is set to Data Type = Table, and Allow Only 1 per Record = yes, and the control for that field contains the default value <Please Select>.

This is resolved in the latest version of NetCommunity. If this behavior is persistent, please confirm you’re on the latest version of NetCommunity.

 

Steps to Duplicate

  1. In RE, create a gift attribute that is set to use Data Type Table and sets the Allow Only 1 per Record option to yes.
  2. In BBNC, manually refresh the code tables [Administration > Code Tables > Refresh code tables]
  3. Add the gift attribute to a Donation Form part that also has eCard functionality enabled
  4. In the Donation Form, mark the relevant gift attribute field as Required
  5. View the page with the Donation Form part.  The gift attribute field will implement as a drop-down/listbox control with a default value of <Please Select>. 
  6. Click the Preview eCard or PDF version hyperlinks to observe that no new window opens and no preview or PDF is generated.
