How to opt in an email address after it was unsubscribed

For any number of reasons, an individual has clicked the unsubscribe link in an email and opted to no longer receive email communications from your organization. Now that individual would like to reverse this and begin receiving emails again.
The first thing that must be determined is how many unsubscribes are being requested and/or what type of unsubscribe needs to be completed.

Type of Unsubscribe:
  1. Account Specific Unsubscribe List

If the email was sent using a campaign/newsletter communication, then the individual must find an email from the same mailing/issue series that they were sent and click on the Unsubscribe link. They can then opt to continue receiving emails from your organization. If the individual no longer has access to the original mailing/issue series they opted out from, Chat with Support and reference this article. .

If you need assistance with removing these Unsubscribes by Blackbaud Support, the request cannot exceed 50 emails and requires authorization from the unsubscribed email addressee that he or she requests to receive your mailings.

Note: We recommend you include a zipped file with a copy of each message from the unsubscribed email addressee containing their request to be removed.

  2. Campaign Specific/Spam Complaint List

Refer to the Knowledgebase solution Remove campaign-specific unsubscribes or spam complaints (BB717850)

As stated above, this request requires authorization from the unsubscribed email addressee that he or she requests to receive your mailings.

Note: We recommend you include a zipped file with a copy of each message from the unsubscribed email addressee containing their request to be removed.
