If you review our list of supported browsers, then you will find that Google Chrome is not supported for the adminstration side of Luminate CMS. That being said, we can expect issues like this to happen. Regardless, we have documented bug # 68334 to reference this issue in the event that we end up supporting Chrome for CMS administration in the future.

As for bypassing required fields in Firefox; you probably noticed a popup box that says "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs." If you read more about this in forums, then you will notice that many other people using other applications are having problems with this as well. When the checkbox is marked in that popup, it somehow allows you to bypass the required fields in CMS. Here is a Firefox setting that you can adjust to get rid of this dialogs box:
  1. Type about:config in the Firefox address bar
  2. Ignore that warning about the warranty (this change can be reversed by resetting the browser to default settings)
  3. Right-click in the preferences area and choose New > Integer
  4. Paste the preference name of dom.successive_dialog_time_limit and click OK
  5. Then enter 0 and click OK
  6. Close all open Firefox windows and tabs for the changes to take effect
The suggestion above was obtained by this technical forum.

We also have created bug # 68462 to see if this issue might be something that our engineers can work around, just in case Mozilla Web Development doesn't address these sporadic issues with this JavaScript popup box.
