Error: An email job cannot be started using this data because it was exported in a prior version. Please export this marketing effort again, in order to update it with additional data now required in order to process an email job.

When click start email job on a Membership renewal notice you may be this error message:

An email job cannot be started using this data because it was exported in a prior version.  Please export this marketing effort again, in order to update it with additional data now required in order to process an email job. 
You may receive this error message when the Export Definition that you have chose in your Package does not match the Export Definition associated with your Letter. To resolve this message, we will ensure we have chosen the correct Export Definition in the Letter and the Package. To determine the selections you currently have made, we can walk through the steps below:
  1. From Marketing and Communications, Click Membership Renewal Efforts > Navigate to the Templates Tab
  2. Open the Template that you were using when the error message was received
  3. On the Membership Rules Tab, Note the Packages in use

  1. From Marketing and Communications, Click Packages > View Packages
  2. Select the first Package that was listed on your Membership Rules Tab, and note the Letter and Export Definition that have been selected

  1. From Marketing and Communications, Select Letters or Email Marketing > View Letters or View Emails Emails
  • Note: If the message in your packages is an Email, please select Email Marketing > View Emails. If the message in your package is a Letter, please select Letters > View Letters
  1. Ensure that the export definition matches the export definition selected in your package

  1. Complete steps 4-7 until you find the Package and Letter that do not contain the same Export Definition. 
  2. Recreate the package that contains the incorrect Export Definition
    1. Marketing and Communications, Packages > View Packages
    2. Add > Choose Mail or Email
    3. Enter the Package Name, Letter, Export Definition and Save
  3. From Marketing and Communications, Click Membership Renewal Efforts > Navigate to the Templates Tab
  4. Open the Template that you were using when the error message was received
  5. Select the arrows to the left of the affected segment, Select Edit
  6. Use the magnifying glass next to Package to search for and replace the old package with your new package
  7. Save
  8. Run the Renewal Process again
