We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information.

You can delete the Province Data Merge Field and replace it with the Sate/Province Data merge field.
  1. Click Communications
  2. Click the category where the template is stored
  3. Click the name of the Communication Template
  4. Click where the Province Data Merge Field is located within the template to open the Edit Contents window
  5. Delete the Province field
  6. Click where in the document you would like to add the Data Merge Field
  7. Click on the Insert Data Merge Tag icon (second row, second to last icon)
  8. Under the Commonly Used Fields category, select State/Province
  9. Click the Insert
  10. Click Update to close the Edit Contents window
  11. Click Save And to save the template
