Duplicate address are most likely occurring due to the setting of "Add the downloaded information as a new address for this constituent" being selected. This option is available for existing records when processing donations, event registrations or profile updates in the Sphere Connector.

To update address information instead of adding:
  • Starting point for all steps: Raiser's Edge>Sphere Connector

For single transaction processing:
  1. Profile Updates
    1. Select the profile update to be processed
    2. Mark the radio button to Update the preferred address with the downloaded information
    3. Click Process Transaction
  2. Donations and Event Registrations
    1. Select the transaction to be processed
    2. Click Process Transaction
    3. If prompted to process profile updates, select yes
    4. Select radio button to Update the preferred address with the downloaded information
    5. Save and Close and continue processing
    6. Event
For Bulk Processing:
  1. Edit Global Options
    1. Select any transaction link: Profile Updates, Donations or Event Registrations
    2. In the transaction window, select Tools>Global Options
    3. Select Address Saving
    4. Ensure Update the preferred address with the downloaded information is selected and click OK
