When constituents are logged in while completing a form, such as a donation form or survey, they noticed that there appear to be duplicate values in the state and country dropdown menus. For example, United States is listed twice at the top of the menu. Likewise, the state that the constituent is currently in appears at the top, while the same value appears again lower in the dropdown menu. Why are there duplicate values?
The Country and State will appear in the dropdown menus according to what is currently selected in that constituents profile. The intended functionality is to display the current value that exists on the constituents profile at the top, while also allowing them to change it if desired. Here is a visual example of how this looks:
The current value on the constituents profile is United States. By selecting the value at the top, the User Interface is essentially selecting the same value below; there is no difference between the two selections. For the State menu, it will display the current selected value at the top and then list the States below United States. So if you were to scroll down in that menu, you will see VA listed again.
Again, this is intended functionality as the purpose is to allow you (as an admin) and constituents to easily see what value currently exists in their constituent profile, while also giving the option to select a new value if desired.
