When a gift record is opened, only the last name or the first name of the constituent populates if the name fields are populated with specific names. When using the Quick Search option, the system is unable to find the constituent if these specific names are used. Why is a gift record showing only the first or last name for the constituent?
This was resolved in Raiser's Edge version 7.96, which was released in fall 2016 and applied to databases in Blackbaud Hosting Services. If your database is installed locally, download and install the latest version and patch, if applicable.

Steps to Duplicate: 1. Log into Raiser's Edge 2. Click on Home from left side toolbar 3. In Quick Find Constituent Field, enter specific name and the remaining portion of the name fills into the last name field (In one reported case it was the first name of Micheal and in another case it was the last name of Brown) 4. Click on Gifts Tab of an affected record 5. Double-click on any gift record showing 6. Constituent Field will be populated as Last Name, Middle Initial or , First Name instead of the full name This does not affect Mail, Query, or Reports section in any way, only Quick Search and Gift Records.
