Checkboxes missing when tyring to edit settings for search list fields

When going to Administration\Data\Search List\Configuration\Configure Search List Fields, the checkboxes are not visible to click on in order to select or de-select output or filter fields. You may also see this with System roles and assigning tasks; the checkboxes are missing there as well.
This is caused by Compatibility View settings in IE which also can affect Chrome as well.

Steps to Resolve:

1. Open IE, on the top right corner click on the gear symbol, then select Compatibility View Settings.
2. When the Compatibility View Settings window opens, add URL for CRM in the Add this website area, then click Add. If the client is hosted by Blackbaud, add
3. Close all browser windows and re-open.
4. You may need to add these URLs to Trusted Sites as well for the internet zone in IE.

To do that:

a. Click the gear on the top right corner in IE, then click Internet Options.
b. Select the Security tab
c. Select Trusted sites, then click the Sites button
d. Add the appropriate URLs for CRM there.
e. You may need to close all browser windows and re-open after this change.
