When applying a payment to a multiple existing commitments in Enhanced Revenue Batch, receive the exception, “Required field missing: Application”

When applying a payment to a multiple existing commitments in Enhanced Revenue Batch, receive the exception, “Required field missing: Application” even though the payment is applied.
This error is caused because the batch template has the application field required.  When a field is marked as required, the batch expects an actual value to be entered.  Since the gift is split, <multiple> is placed in the application field, and you are unable to select a value for the field. Any dynamically enabled field which is marks as required' can potentially result in this type of issue.
