In Luminate Online, users can map specific phone number fields to Phone Types from The Raiser’s Edge. This can be completed in Data Management > Luminate Configuration > Map Custom Fields.

From The Raiser's Edge to Luminate Online:
When data is flowing from The Raiser's Edge to Luminate Online, the first or Primary phone or email listed on the Phones Grid will transfer over to Luminate Online, as long as the phone type is mapped properly in Luminate Online. If the first phone/email listed is not of a mapped phone type, the integration will move down to the next line and transfer the next phone/email as long as the type is mapped.

From Luminate Online to The Raiser's Edge:
To accommodate changes to the way contact information is stored in The Raiser’s Edge 7.94, the integration no longer overwrites any contact information when it is downloaded from Luminate Online. For example, if a constituent donates through Luminate Online, and provides a new email address, you can no longer overwrite the existing email when you download that information into The Raiser’s Edge. We have made a few different options available for how to handle the contact information based on address options at the bottom of the plug in.

Update the preferred address with the downloaded information
  • When this is selected at the bottom of the Preferred Address tab and a phone/email update is processed, the information in The Raiser’s Edge is no longer overwritten. Instead, the new information from Luminate Online appears at the top of the list of phones/emails on the Bio 1 tab in the phones grid on the constituent record. If the new phone/email type matches the type of existing primary information (i.e., if the phone or email is listed first but is not primary), the new information is marked as primary.

Add the downloaded information as a new address for this constituent
  • When you select this option, the new contact information appears at the bottom of the phones grid on the Bio 1 tab of the constituent record.

Add the downloaded information as a new address for this constituent, and Make this new address the preferred address
  • When you also mark the option to “Make this new address the preferred address”, the new information from Luminate Online appears at the top of the contact information list on the constituent record. If the new phone/email type matches the type of the existing primary information on the record (i.e., if the phone or email is listed first but is not primary), the new information is marked as primary.
