Error: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'ID', table 'XXXSMARTFIELDXXX'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated - when running particular types of smart fields

When users run particular types of Smart Fields they may encounter the following error:
Error: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'ID', table '30439P_a270b83f-d1d7-4231-86d4-0ebb86777430.dbo.SMARTFIELD440842509C2B4E1698E7A1C24DE17531'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.

This can occur for the following Smart Field types:
  • Constituent Years on file
  • Constituent Loyalty
  • Constituent Single gift consecutive year donors
  • Constituent Years on File smart fields
Clear the smart field result before starting the smart field process: 
  1. In Administration select Smart Field.
  2. Expand any saved Constituent Loyalty Smart Field.
  3. Click Clear result before click on Process Smart Field.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. In Administration select Smart Field.
  2. Expand any saved Constituent Loyalty Smart Field.
  3. Click Process Smart Field.
  4. Note the error.
  5. Complete the same steps for a Constituent Year on File Smart Field.
