When a user, from an email, clicks on the email preferences (or unsubscribe button) the user is directed to the BBIS Email Preferences form. 

From here the donor has the option to select from a few options, they can opt out of a specific appeal, add a solicit code, or globally opt out. 

Regardless of their selection, they click update and a Profile Update Batch is sent to BBIS. This batch and be downloaded in the manage web transactions section of CRM. 

Once the batch has been committed, the new options will appear on the client record. IE if they chose to globally opt out of emails the checkbox 'Do not send email to this address' will be marked.
