NOTE: If integrating The Raiser's Edge and The Financial Edge, detaching a database will break the integration, as the databases will no longer be connected.   If the database will be reattached, note  the database name and SQL Server name for The Financial Edge database and use these same names when re-attaching The Financial Edge database to prevent the integration from breaking.
For the steps to attach a database, refer to How to attach a database to the Blackbaud Management Console
    1. Open the Blackbaud Management Console on the server
    2. Click on the name of the database to highlight it.
    3. Note the Primary File Path in the right frame. This is the where the database files are located, and will be needed if you are re-attaching the database.
    4. Right-click on the name of the database and select Detach.
    1. If you receive a message about removing existing jobs from the server, select Yes if you plan to re-attach this database to the same server and want to keep the scheduled backup and maintenance tasks.
Note: The application (i.e. The Financial Edge or The Raiser's Edge) may need to be run "As an administrator" on each workstation the first time after detaching a database in the Blackbaud Management Console. (See, How to install Blackbaud products on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 operating systems, and what additional steps are required.)
