Try each of the following steps in order until the issue is resolved:

If filtering the report on selected Campaigns, Funds or Appeals:

  • If the donor gave to one of the selected Campaigns, Funds or Appeals for the first time during the dates selected in the report parameters, the donor correctly shows on the report as a new donor
  • If the donor gave previously to an inactive campaign, fund or appeal, mark the Display inactive checkbox:
  • Open the report parameters and select the Filters tab
  • Click the binoculars button to view the selected campaigns, funds, or appeals
  • Mark the option to display the inactive campaigns, funds, or appeals
  • Include the inactive entries on your report

Set up the report to show soft credits appropriately:
  • Open the report parameters and select the General tab
  • For Soft Credit Gifts to, select the Donor option
OR
  • Edit the hard credit constituent gift record and soft credit the new spouse
  • Open the report parameters and select the General tab
  • For Soft Credit Gifts to, select the Donor option

Ensure the donor's gifts do not meet the report parameters:
  • Open a constituent records that should not be included on the report
  • Select the Gifts tab
  • If gifts have no post date, enter the GL post date on the gift, or on the General tab of the report, select Gift Date from the Date to use drop-down menu

  • Ensure the gift dates and other report parameters filter out the gift. For example: John gave a gift to the Annual Fund on 1/25/2004 and to the Building Fund on 9/23/2004. In the report parameters on the Filters tab, only the Building Fund is included on the report. The date range on the General tab is 9/1/2004 to 9/30/2004. The only gift for John that meets the report parameters is the gift to the Building Fund. Since this meets the date parameters for the first gift, John shows on the report.

  • If the constituent has one other gift and the Gift Date or Post Date (whichever one is being used) is greater than 240 years from today's date, the constituent is considered a new donor
  •           Select to include anonymous gifts on the report
