Accounts containing activity or which are in use cannot be deleted. For example, transaction detail and/or summarized totals from General Ledger.

Accounts are considered to be in use if they are defined in any field in the system. i.e. : Accounts defined on Budgets scenarios, Bank Accounts, GL Distributions in subsidiary ledgers, interfund sets, investment pools, etc. An account with no activity, but has an attribute is also considered in use.

  1. From the Records page, click Accounts
  2. Open the account to delete
  3. Select File, Delete from menu bar. A confirmation message appears, which
    asks if you are sure you want to delete the account.
  4. Click Yes to delete.


To prevent using accounts that cannot be deleted, mark it as inactive to prevent posting.
