Note : Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup article.

Globally Changing the Preferred Address or All Addresses

  1. Click Admin, Globally Change Records.
  2. Highlight Constituent, Constituent.
  3. Click New Change.
  4. Click Include to select a query, if appropriate.
  5. In the Show field, select:
    • Preferred Address if globally changing the preferred address.
    • All Addresses if globally changing all addresses types.
      Note: To globally change a specific address type, refer to the section below, Globally Changing a Specific Address Type
  6. Select the field Send Mail.
  7. Select Replace as the Operator.
      • To globally mark Send mail to this address:
        In the Replace field, select Unchecked.
        In the With field, select Checked.
      • To globally unmark Send mail to this address:
        In the Replace field, select Checked.
        In the With field, select Unchecked. br />
  8. Click OK.
  9. On the Global Change - Constituent screen, mark Create control report.
  10. Click Change Now to make the change.

Globally Changing a Specific Address Type

    • If changing one address per constituent record, do the following:
      1. Export the following fields for the appropriate address. Export in CSV format.
        • Constituent Import ID (ImportID)
        • LastName (LastName)
        • Organization Name (OrgName)
        • Key Indicator (KeyInd)
        • Address Import ID (AddrImpID)
      2. Open the export file in Excel and add the headers to each column. The headers are listed in the parenthesis next to the field name in step 1.
      3. Add an additional column to the file with the header of AddrSendMail. In this column, add "Y" all the way down the column to mark the address as Send mail to this address field or "N" to unmark this field.
      4. Save the file in CSV format.
      5. Import the file using a constituent import. (The instructions in this link includes additional fields. For this import these fields are unnecessary. Start following the directions by clicking the link and starting from step 5.)
    • If changing multiple addresses per constituent record, do the following:
      1. Export the following fields for the appropriate address. Export in CSV format.
        • Constituent Import ID (ImportID).
        • Address Import ID (AddrImpID).
      2. Open the export file in Excel and add the headers to each column. The headers are listed in the parenthesis next to the field name in step 1.
      3. Add an additional column to the file with the header of AddrSendMail. In this column, add "Y" all the way down the column to mark the address as Send mail to this address field or "N" to unmark this field.
      4. Save the file in CSV format.
      5. Import the file using a constituent address import. (The instructions in this link includes additional fields. For this import these fields are unnecessary. Start following the directions in the link from step 4.)
