Important notes if you display assignment information in NetClassroom:
  • Ensure assignment names and descriptions are clear and informative, such as HW for Homework, QZ for Quiz, and EX for Exam
  • Provide specific details about each assignment, such as page numbers to read
  • Note that if you add a hyperlink to an assignment description in Faculty Access for the Web, it automatically appears as a link in NetClassroom. Using this feature, you can direct students to online resources as part of their assignments. For example, save a PDF of an article on your school's website and provide a link to it in the assignment description.

     

For FAWeb version 7.83 and higher: 
   ? To add an assignment
from the Edit assignments screen: 
  1. From the Gradebook menu, select Edit assignments
  2. Confirm the appropriate marking column and class are selected
  3. Click New on the action bar
  4. Enter the due date in the Student Date Due column
  5. If using the assignment dropbox, choose whether or not to enable the dropbox for this assignment and enter the time the assignment is due by.
  6. Select the category in the Category column
  7. If you defined a default name for the category on the Categories page (such as HW), it defaults in the Name column. You can edit this name. For example, you can add the number 9 after the default name HW.
  8. The values in the Maximum Points and Factor columns default from the Categories page, if defined. You can edit these values.

     

     

  9. In the Description column, enter a clear description of the assignment.
    Note: To link to a document, enter the hyperlink to the document in the assignment description or add a shared document later.
  10. To show the assignment in NetClassroom, enter a date in the Show Assignment column
  11. If using the Assignment Dropbox, enter a date and time for the dropbox to close to prevent assignments from being submitted after that time
  12. To show the grade for the assignment in NetClassroom, enter a date in the Show Grade column
  13. To designate a date for you to enter the grade in your gradebook, enter a date in the Grades Date Due column
     
  14. Click Save

   ? To add an assignment to multiple classes at one time: 
 
Note: When adding an assignment to two or more classes at one time, these assignments will be shared or linked.  
 
  1. Select Edit assignments from the Gradebook menu.
  2. Click New shared assignment from the action bar
    Note: Shared assignments have been renamed linked assignments, so in version 7.85, patch 1 and higher, this will be labeled New linked assignment
     
  3. Fill in the name of the assignment. 
  4. If using the assignment dropbox, mark the checkbox to enable the assignment dropbox for this assignment.
  5. In the Description field, enter a clear description of the assignment.
  6. Fill in the Maximum points and Factor fields if using categories.
  7. Add a shared document to this assignment by clicking the Choose file link if desired.
  8. In the Add to field, select the class(es) you wish to add the assignment to.  Fill in the appropriate due date, time ( if using assignment dropbox) and category (if using categories).
  9. To show the assignment in NetClassroom, mark the checkbox to Set Show assignment date and choose the appropriate date.
  10. To show the assignment grade in NetClassroom, mark the checkbox to Set Show grade grade and choose the appropriate date.
  11. Click Save to add the assignment.
     

   ? To add an assignment from the gradebook: 
  1. From the gradebook, click Add assignment on the action bar. 
     
  2. Follow Steps 3 - 11 under To add an assignment to multiple classes at one time.


For FAWeb version 7.82 and lower: 
  1. From Gradebook, select Setup.
  2. From the list on the left, select Assignments.
  3. Confirm the appropriate marking column and class are selected.
  4. Click New on the action bar.
  5. Enter the due date in the Student Date Due column.
  6. Select the category in the Category column.
  7. If you defined a default name for the category on the Categories page (such as HW), it defaults in the Name column. You can edit this name if needed. For example, you can add the number 9 after the default name HW.
