When users add a new Marketing Effort to CRM version 4.0, they have the option of also adding a Test Effort. However, when adding this new Test Effort, users may receive the error:
Data could not be saved. Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.MKTCOMMUNICATIONTEMPLATEDEFAULTSOLICITCODES' with unique index 'UIX_MKTCOMMUNICATIONTEMPLATEDEFAULTSOLICITCODES_COMMUNICATIONTEMPLATEID_SOLICITCODEID'. The duplicate key value is (f1287f8f-0efc-4b3c-88b8-fd53e35045dc, fa54a5e1-b91f-447d-b9f6-b6760c98a80e)
Download and install the latest patch which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch.
Steps to Duplicate
1. Go to Marketing and Communications> Direct Marketing Effort 2. Choose Add 3. Choose Next to add a new name for the Marketing Effort 4. Once the Effort is created, choose Test Effort on the left hand side 5. Choose Add, and name the Test effort 6. Receive the error
Note that this only occurs for new Marketing Efforts-- any old Efforts do not have the option for Test Efforts
