Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object - when leaving the Application field in batch

When entering data in batch you may see the message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."  This may occur when a constituent has a recurring gift commitment and the application field is selected.  Once this error occurs, the batch drop-downs and actions will freeze, preventing you from making any other changes.  The batch can still be saved.
Download and install the latest patch which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch.

Steps to Duplicate

1. In constituents add a new individual
2. From this record add two recurring gifts with different amounts
3. Go to Revenue, Batch Entry and add a new Enhanced revenue batch using the standard template
4. In the new batch look up the constituent, enter an amount that matches one of the recurring gifts (note the application defaults)
5. Tab through the fields and when you reach the application field choose the other recurring gift
