Error: Do Standard Debit encountered unexpected error: ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column - when running EFT

When running the EFT processing, you may get the error:  "Do Standard Debit encountered unexpected error: ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column. Contact system administrator."

This error will be generated when EFT processing creates a batch with 100 items or more; the items after 99 do not get written into EFT_LOG and the following error shows up in the log: "EFT Processing Do Standard Debit encountered unexpected error: ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column. Contact system administrator."

Note that the EFT charges completed successfully.  The problem was that the logging was in error.

Suggestion:  You can avoid this error by setting "Maximum Batch Size for Default" for Charge Processing (in System Preference Administration) to 99 or less.  To find this preference in the application:  System Maintenance > System Preference Administration > Background (tab) > Operation:  Upload/Download (drop-down) > Preference:  Maximum Batch Size for default.
