Error: eTapestry Application Error Received When Adding a New Account and selecting Add Recurring Gift Schedule, Add Recurring Gift, or Add Soft Credit from the Save And drop down menu

When trying to add a new account into eTapestry, you are able to go to the Add Account screen and fill out the information fields.
When attempting to save the new account and choose the options of Add Recurring Gift Schedule, Add Recurring Gift, or Add Soft Credit from the Save And drop down menu, you may receive an Application Error.
While an application error was received, the account information that was entered into the fields is still saved to the database.
This issue was resolved in our 7.16.0 Release on 8/2/2015.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Click the arrow next to Accounts in the menu bar
  2. Click Add an Account
  3. Check Constituent under Roles
  4. Fill in the Name and Sort Name
  5. Fill in the Address, City, State, Postal Code, Phone Number, and Email information
  6. Fill in or select any applicable User Defined Fields
  7. Click Save And in the Tasks menu and select either Add Recurring Gift, Add Recurring Gift Schedule, or Add Soft Credit
  8. Receive the Application Error
If you enable the “Duplicate Check on save” user preference you should not get the error when creating new accounts and selecting any option from the Save And drop down menu.
  1. Click Management
  2. Click My User
  3. Click the Preferences page
  4. Under User Preferences, mark the box for “Duplicate Check on save”
  5. Click Save
