When attempting to assign seats for a fundraising event, CRM users are able to filter the list of guests to only show unseated registrants, and also sort the list by the Name, Host, Group, Guest, or Seat columns. Users may notice that the sort order is lost each time a registrant is assigned to a seat, and they must re-select the desired sort order.
We're currently evaluating this issue for a fix in a future patch or service pack.
Steps to Duplicate
Log into CRM and navigate to the Events functional area.
Click the binoculars icon to search for an event.
Enter any search terms, and open an event record.
When the event record opens, select the Registrations tab to ensure there are at least 3 guests registered for the event.
Look at the options in the Tasks menu on the left. If the seating layout has not yet been configured, select ‘Configure seating layout’ otherwise skip to step 8.
Select any option from the ‘Seating layout’ drop-down menu and enter an arbitrary value in each of the fields on the form.
Select ‘Assign seats’ from the Tasks menu on the left.
Select ‘Unseated registrants’ from the ‘Show’ drop-down menu on the Assign Seats form.
Sort the list of registrants by any of the available columns.
Select any one of the registrants (other than the first registrant listed) and assign the registrant to a seat by dragging and dropping the name over the appropriate seat.
Notice the sort order previously specified is lost.
