You can exclude constituents from a Membership Renewal Process in two ways:
  1. Solicit Codes - You can exclude constituents that are marked with a specific solicit code from a membership renewal process.
    1. Go to Marketing and Communications > Membership Renewal Efforts
    2. Go to the Templates Tab
    3. Click the drop down arrows beside your Membership Renewal Process and click Edit.
    4. On the Contact Rules Tab, add any solicit codes you'd like to exclude from the process to this list.
    5. Click Save. This will update your Membership Renewal process to always exclude Constituents marked with those solicit codes.
  2. Selections - You can add an exclusion selection to your membership renewal process to exclude all constituents that appear in a selection.
    1. Go to Marketing and Communications > Membership Renewal Efforts
    2. Go to Templates Tab
    3. Click on the hyperlinked name of your Membership Renewal Process.
    4. Go to the Exclusions tab.
    5. Click Add.
    6. A Marketing Selection Search screen will pop. In the Results Screen, click the Add button and choose to add an Ad-hoc Query or Smart Query.
    7. Build your query to find those constituents that you would like to exclude. For example, if you'd like to exclude Board Members, use the field "Constituency is equal to Board Member."
    8. Once you've built your selection, name your selection and click Save.
    9. The selection will now appear on the exclusions tab. This will update your Membership Renewal Process to always exclude the Constituents that appear in that selection.
