We have a few middle school students that want to take upper school courses. We don't know if this is possible and if it is, how do we should set it up.
Middle school students can take an upper school course, however there are some important things to note.
One thing to keep in mind is that the upper school course cannot appear on the middle school report card, so the middle school student would have two report cards - one upper school report card for the upper school course, and one middle school report card for the middle school courses.
Alternatively, if you want middle school students to have one report card, you can create 2 courses, one for the upper school course (which will have upper and middle school students) and one for the middle school course (which will only have middle school students). In order to display the grade on the middle school report card, the teacher would record the middle school student's report card grade in the middle school course. The teacher would manage daily assignment grades the upper school gradebook only, and the teacher would record the report card grade in the middle school course manually by selecting the same grade recorded in the upper school course.
If you also need to display middle school grades on the upper school transcript (for example, to show credits for upper school courses that the student earned during middle school), the teacher would record the grade in the upper school course as well as the middle school course.
