Setting up a class page document part on a class page template as a supervisor:
  1. Log in to the NetCommunity site as a user who has rights to create/edit pages
  2. Create or Edit an existing Class Page template
  3. Create a new Class Page Documents part
  4. Enter a custom title in the Heading field when creating the part. For Example: Class Documents
  5. Mark the checkbox to Include Faculty Access for the Web Documents to have documents display from FAWeb
  6. Enter the location where FAWeb documents are hosted. This URL is configured in the web.config files for FAWeb
  7. Click Save

The part will now display on the page, and you will see an example of how the part should look.

Setting up a class page document part on a class page as a teacher: 

  1. Log in to the NetCommunity site as the teacher of the class
  2. Navigate to a page with a Campus Page Manager part on it
  3. Click the link to open the class page. If the class page has not been created, create a class page
  4. Click the Edit link for the Class Documents section. The section will be labeled with the heading that was used to create the part with.
Note: The part must be configured by the teacher to enable functionality. The part will prompt the teacher with the following message: Please edit this content to create your new resource library. 
  1. Enter a title and description for the class page documents
  2. Click Save 

The part will now display on the page, and you will see what students will be able to see.

Adding Class Documents to be displayed in the class Documents part: 

  • Class Documents uploaded directly on the class page
    1. Log in to the NetCommunity site as the teacher of the class
    2. Navigate to a page with a Campus Page Manager part on it
    3. Click the link to open the class page.
    4. Click the Add Document link
    5. Click Browse
    6. Select File and enter a Title 
    7. Click Save
​Note: By default, the maximum file size for documents uploaded through this part is typically 4096 KB. All documents uploaded through the class documents part are stored in NetCommunity. 
  • Class Documents uploaded in FAWeb
  1. Log in to FAWeb as the teacher
  2. Click Gradebook Add Class Announcements
  3. Select the current Marking Column from the drop down menu for Marking Column
  4. Select the class from the drop down menu for Class
  5. Click Add New Document link
  6. Enter a Name and Description for the document. The description is not displayed in NetCommunity. 
  7. Click Choose File and select the file
  8. Click Save

The document should now display on the page.

Class documents not showing on the class page: 

  • Verify the Class Page has been created
  • Verify the Class Page has been published
  • Verify the documents uploaded in FAWeb are not associated with any assignments. Any documents in FAWeb associated with assignments do not display on the documents part in NetCommunity. 
  • Verify the document is added under the correct class in FAWeb
  • Verify the document is added under the current marking column in FAWeb
  • Verify today's date falls within the marking column specified for the document in FAWeb
