Setting up a faculty/student announcement on a faculty or student page template as a supervisor:
  1. Log in to the NetCommunity site as a user who has rights to create/edit pages
  2. Create or Edit an existing faculty or student Page template
  3. Create a new Faculty/Student Announcements part. There are no items to configure for this part. 
  4. Click Save

The part will now display on the page, and you will see an example of how the part should look.

Adding School Announcements to be displayed for students in the faculty/student announcements part in The Education Edge: 
 

  1. Log in to The Education Edge as a supervisor
  2. Click Configuration > NetClassroom
  3. Click Announcements
  4. Enter a Start Display Date
  5. Enter an End Display Date
    • Note: Announcements are date sensitive, and will only display on dates that fall between the start and end dates specified
  6. Enter a Name 
  7. Enter the Announcment
  8. Choose the selected schools to display the announcements for
  9. Click out of the row to save the changes 
The announcement should now display on the page.

Adding Class Announcements to be displayed for students in the faculty/student announcements part in FAWeb:
  1. Log in to FAWeb as the teacher of the class
  2. Click Gradebook > Add Class Announcements
  3. Select the class from the drop down menu for Class
  4. Enter Start Display On date
  5. Enter End Home Page Display on date
    • Note: Announcements are date sensitive, and will only display on dates that fall between the start and end dates specified
  6. Enter a Name. The Name is not displayed in NetCommunity. 
  7. Enter the Announcement 
  8. Click Save
The announcement should now display on the page, with the name of the class where the announcement is listed in bold.

Adding Teacher Announcements to be displayed for faculty in the faculty/student announcements part in FAWeb:
  1. Log in to FAWeb as a supervisor
  2. Click Announcements
  3. Click the New button
  4. Enter Start Display On date
  5. Enter End Display on date
    • Note: Announcements are date sensitive, and will only display on dates that fall between the start and end dates specified
  6. Enter a Name. The Name is not displayed in NetCommunity. 
  7. Enter the Announcement 
  8. Choose Yes or No for each school listed, to determine which schools this announcement will display for
  9. Click Save
The announcement should now display on the page for faculty only.
