Error: Post date must be in a n open period - when importing recurring gift commitments

Recurring gift commitments do not post to the general ledger, and should therefore not cause the following error:

“Post date must be in a n open period” when importing those recurring gift commitments
We're currently evaluating this issue for a fix in a future patch or service pack.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Create an import file that contains recurring gift commitments
  2. Create an ERB import process to import the file into batch
  • These fields should be mapped:
    • Amount
    • Date
    • Revenue type
    • Payment method
    • Application
    • Designation
    • Other type
    • Installment start date
    • Payment for pledge amount (the client has this mapped even though there is no field in the file)
    • Constituent type
    • The client also has the following New/Edit Constituent collection fields mapped even though they are not in the file:
      • Last/Org/Group/Household name
      • First name
      • Middle name
      • Title
      • Suffix
  1. Set options/Other – Quick find
  2. Start process
  3. Go to resultant batch
  4. Observe error
