In this example, the report is grouped by Gift Type (Cash, Pledge, Pay-Cash) and we want to see the Gf_Amount total for each Gift Type.
  1. Create a Running Total for the first group value
    • Name: Cash Subtotal
    • Field to summarize: Gf_Amount
    • Type of summary: Sum
    • Evaluate: use a formula: Gf_Type = "Cash"
    • Reset: Never
  2. Insert the Running Total into the Report Footer section
  3. Go to Insert > Text Object and place the textbox next to the Cash Subtotal Running Total
  4. Type "Cash Subtotal" in the textbox
  5. Repeat step 1 for the Pledge Subtotal
  6. Insert the Pledge Subtotal Running Total into the Report Footer section
  7. Go to Insert > Text Object and place the textbox next to the Pledge Subtotal Running Total
  8. Type "Pledge Subtotal" in the textbox
  9. Repeat step 1 for the Pay-Cash Subtotal
  10. Insert the Pay-Cash Subtotal Running Total into the Report Footer section
  11. Go to Insert > Text Object and place the textbox next to the Pay-Cash Subtotal Running Total
  12. Type "Pay-Cash Subtotal" in the textbox
