Error: General OBDC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Driver]Warning:Partial insert/update - when saving an Action record from Letter or adding Notes to an Action

Users may receive the following error when adding text in the Notes tab of an Action record or  when saving a letter as an Action on the constituent's record when a logo is added to the Header or Footer of the merge document.

Error: General ODBC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Driver]Warning:Partial insert/update. The insert/update of a text or image column(s) did not succeed. Native error:0 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]WRITETEXT is not allowed because the table is being tracked for change tracking. Native error:22113.
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information.

In the meantime, insert the logo without using headers or footers.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Go to Config> Letters> Constituent
  2. Click New Letter to create a new letter and Export
  3. On the Output tab of the Export, add a few constituent fields
  4. Click Edit merge document and insert a header
  5. Add a logo to the header 
  6. Select Add-Ins> Insert Raiser's Edge field to add a few merge fields in the main body of the letter
  7. Select Add-Ins> Save and return to RE7 to Merge
  8. Click Save and Close, and name the Export, and click Save
  9. Click Save and Close to save the Letter description in Config
  10. Go to Records> Constituent to open a constituent record
  11. From the menu bar select Letter> [Name of Constituent Letter created in Config]
  12. Add some text into letter. Select Add-Ins> Save this document as an action, and error may occur.
  13. Action record appears but will not save as error occurs again.
