Error: Invalid Number: Assigned Solicitor Solicitor- when adding an Assigned Solicitor in a Constituent Batch

When adding an Assigned Solicitor to the Defaults tab of the Edit Batch Setup window in Batch, users receive the error "Invalid Number: Assigned Solicitor Solicitor".

We have evaluated this issue as a potential defect and we have determined it will notbe addressed in the software in its current state.  In this case, the risks and challenges outweigh the potential benefit of resolving this issue.

We wish we could address each and every issue that we come across, but there are occasions when addressing certain issues would add risk to causing a bigger problem or would put other prioritized initiatives at risk. 

We strive to select the most impactful changes and issues to address with each release to accelerate the rate at which we deliver new features while sustaining the highest level of quality for our customers.


Alternative solution:
Add the Assigned Solicitor in the default row (the green row) in the batch grid

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Click Batch>New Constituent Batch
  2. Click the Fields tab
  3. Under Constituent Fields (on the left-hand side of the window), select Assigned Solicitors>Solicitor
  4. Click the Defaults tab
  5. Type the Assigned Solicitor's name in the Default Value field of the Assigned Solicitor row
  6. Click Data Entry
  7. Error appears
