CRM users may notice the Subcategory field is skipped when adding a constituent interaction, if a user selects the interaction category by tabbing to the field and using the keys on their keyboard. When you tab out of the Category field, the cursor is placed in the Expected Date field instead of the Subcategory field. If you move your mouse or use the arrows on your keyboard to select the Category field, the cursor is placed in the Subcategory field when you tab out of the Category field.
We're currently evaluating this issue for a fix in a future patch or service pack.
Steps to Duplicate
Navigate to the Constituent functional area.
Select the Constituent Search task.
Search for any constituent’s record and go to the record.
Select the Documentation and Interactions tab.
Select the Interactions tab.
Click Add to add a new interaction.
DO NOT use your mouse for any of the following steps. Please use your keyboard keys.
Enter any value in the Summary field and tab to the category field.
Select any category from the Category menu by entering the first few letters of the category title. When the full category name populates in the field, select it by pressing the Enter key.
Press the Tab key.
Notice the Subcategory field is skipped and your cursor is placed in the Expected date field.
Use your mouse when selecting a value from the Category field.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select a value from the Category field.
