Why am I able to add the same User Defined Field to my DIY page multiple times

When creating or editing any DIY page you have the option to add the same User Defined Field to the page multiple times. With the same User Defined Field on the DIY page multiple times the constituent can enter different values but only one of those values will be entered within the database. This can cause incorrect data to be filtered into the account since the field can only hold one value.
In order to prevent the same User Defined Field being added to the DIY page you will want to follow the steps below to add this field:
 
  1. Click Management
  2. Click DIY forms
  3. Click Edit on your DIY form
  4. Click Add Items
  5. Click Add Fields
  6. Select the category your User Defined Field is stored in
  7. Select the User Defined Field
  8. Click Update
The User Defined Field will now be greyed out and unable to be selected. We are currently evaluating this issue so that the database will prevent you from adding the double fields and will update this article when we have more information.
 

Steps to Duplicate

 Steps to reproduce:
  1. Log into database with credentials (see above)
  2. Click Management
  3. Click DIY Forms
  4. Click Edit next to the DIY page
  5. Click Add Item
  6. Click Add Fields
  7. Click the Magnifying Glass
  8. Type in the name of the User Defined Field
  9. Select the field
  10. Click Update
  11. Click Add Item
  12. Click Add Fields
  13. Click the Magnifying Glass
  14. Type in the name of the User Defined Field
  15. Select the field
  16. Click Update
  17. Click Save
  18. Click Yes Save My Draft
  19. Click Go Live
  20. Click Yes Go Live
  21. Click Replace
The DIY page will now contain the same User Defined Field multiple times
