Direct marketing efforts are accessed through a data list. For a specific Marketing effort when selecting the item in the list the CRM application will freeze and the page must be refreshed. This can also happen when trying to copy them, the page may become unresponsive and lock up.
We are currently evaluating this issue for a fix in a future service pack.
The workaround below should allow the effort to be accessed from the list: 1. Select the link on the list to open the Marketing Effort 2. On the task bar Edit the Marketing Effort 3. Reduce the Description to make it as short as possible. 4. Save
Steps to Duplicate
1. Go to Marketing and Communications 2. Select Direct Marketing Efforts 3. Select a marketing effort 4. Click the down chevron - - this can freeze the screen 5. Select Copy 6. Observe error. Note: Internet explorer shows the error, “[Webserver] not responding due to a long-running script." In Google Chrome the error is “Page Unresponsive.”
