NXT solutions allow access to your database in two unique views; web view and database view. New features and some data will be stored exclusively in the web view and will not be added to the database view. As a result, if the database view is restored to a previous back-up then information between the two databases will not be in sync.  The only way to correct this is to reset the web view to its initial state, called a Factory Reset.  When a factory reset occurs it will remove all the data that appears in the web view including what is only stored in the web view.

Raiser's Edge NXT or Financial Edge NXT

If a record is deleted in the NXT web view or database view, manually re-enter the data.

Alternative options
  1. Purchase a temporarily hosted database that can be used to export/import your deleted information.
    • (NOTE: Your organization's site administrator must sign a temporary database form and give it to support to process your request.  The fee for the temporary database is $200 a month, with a minimum requirement of one month.)
    • (NOTE: If you are a Blackbaud Europe customer, we can complete this work via our Data Management Services at a cost. For more information, please speak to your Blackbaud Account Manager)
  2. Contact our professional services department, with a request of assisting to restore data.  This will be a billable service.
  3. Restore to a backup of the database to time before the record was deleted
    • (NOTE: The NXT web view is synchronized with a Raiser's Edge or Financial Edge application in the background. If a record is deleted in the application/database view and you wish to restore to backup, then this request will also cause a factory reset of the NXT web view. This means all information added to the NXT (attachments, lists, etc.) will be lost and cannot be restored. Please review the following for additional information:
A Factory Reset creates a brand new web view for your organization and only the database view will be fully restored. Only data entered as of the restore point for the database view will be present.  All previous data entered to fields existing only in the web view will be lost. An organization would resume as if it was enabled for the first time.

All Factory Resets must be authorized by your organization’s primary. If you need to change your organization's primary click here.

NOTE: Carefully review all impacted fields that will be removed prior to authorizing a Factory Reset
