Multiple errors appearing on RE API connection line - when accessing the test configuration page for NetCommunity

When trying to access the NetCommunity plug in or viewing the test configuration page, the RE API connection will display one of two errors in succession: 

1st error:
"Server was unable to process request. ---> 
Startup Error: Win32 Heap function failed Main Startup Step: 
CBBStartSeq.Startup Start Sequence Step: ConnectToDB"


2nd error: 
"Server was unable to process request. ---> 
Startup Error: General ODBC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]
Login failed for user 'XXXXXXX\XXXXXXXX'. Native error: 18456 Main Startup Step: 
CBBStartSeq.Startup Start Sequence Step: ConnectToDB"
This issue was the result of a SQL server migration of The Raiser's Edge database. As a result, this presented multiple errors on the RE API connection line for NetCommunity. To resolve, perform the following: 
  1. Log onto The Raiser's Edge Web Server (or REWS)
  2. Open IIS
  3. Expand the IIS instance > Default Website
  4. Click on Application Pools
  5. Click on RE7Service
  6. Right click > Recycle
  7. Refresh test config page
