Spouse relationships become Ex-Spouses after processing updates in ConnectRE

After processing updates in ConnectRE, some Spouse relationships may be changed to Ex-Spouse relationships.
To ensure the most current data is updated in Raiser's Edge, spouse and relationship information must be updated in the "ON" products first. Spouses are included regardless of their "participating" role. For example, the spouse of an alumni is included and updated, even when the spouse is not also an alumni. In addition, a selection for married couples will have to be made based on constituency for parents and grandparents. You could add each parent as a constituent or only add one person in the constituent as a couple by gender.

Check the mapped data types for questions on what fields will be affected by the integration

If you have verified that the spouse relationship already exists in Core, please perform the following steps:
  1. Log into Core, and navigate to the affected constituent's profile.
  2. "Dirty" the profile (i.e. make an insignificant change to one of the mapped fields, like Nickname) to push a change to ConnectRE.
  3. Log into Raiser's Edge and navigate to ConnectRE
  4. Verify that the update from Core for that constituent includes updating the spousal relationship.
  5. Process updates.
If the spouse relationship still does not update in ConnectRE, click Chat with Support and reference this article.

Steps to Duplicate

1. In RE, locate two linked spouse records with the relationship of Spouse/Spouse. In Core, these records are listed as Spouse/Partner or Spouse/Spouse.
2. Log into RE and select ConnectRE.
3. These records should show as already matched. If not, link the records accordingly.
4. Click Process Updates.
5. Locate the records in the Raiser's Edge.
6. Click the Relationships tab
7. There will be a Spouse and Ex-Spouse relationship listed.
