Complete the following steps in the order listed:
  1. Log into your Blackbaud application and obtain the following information so you will know what version and patch of the Blackbaud application to install along with the version of SQL Server that your database is using:
a.  Version and patch of the Blackbaud application (see How to find the software version and/or patch number of my Blackbaud software); and
b.  Version of SQL Server being used (see What version of SQL Server is used by Blackbaud Hosting Services)
  1. Request a backup of your Blackbaud Hosting Services database.
  2. Download your Blackbaud software, including any patch, from Blackbaud.com > Support > Downloads.
NOTE:  If your organization has a Blackbaud Hosting Services software subscription, software downloads are unavailable in accordance with your contract.
  1. Install a standalone version of your application
NOTE: SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Express (RE_EXPRESS or FE_EXPRESS) is included and will be installed with your Blackbaud software if you do not have a compatible version of SQL Server.  If your database is over 10 GBs in size, then you will need to install a full version of SQL Server.  System Administrator (SA) rights to the SQL Server instance are needed for a user to be able to open the Blackbaud Management Console and perform all the functions within it.  Please contact the appropriate software vendor or IT professional for assistance with this process or issue, which is beyond Blackbaud's scope of support.
  1. Attach the database to the Blackbaud Management Console
  2. Log into your Blackbaud application database with the Supervisor account.
NOTE: If you do not know the password for the Supervisor account, then download and run the Supervisor password reset utility for your Blackbaud application:
