Fund ID appears in Other Gifts Report when User Options specifies to use Description for Fund names

In many reports in The Raiser's Edge, Fund names can appear as either Fund ID or Fund Description based on the record name option set in User Options. However in the Other Gifts Report, Fund ID appears when Fund Description is specified in User Options.
We have evaluated this issue as a bug and we have determined it will not be addressed in the program in its current state.  In this case, we believe the risks and challenges outweigh the potential benefit of resolving this issue. We strive to select the most impactful changes and issues to address with each release to accelerate the rate at which we deliver new features while sustaining the highest level of quality for our customers. We would certainly recommend adding this program suggestion to our Ideas Community page.  Our developers check here first when building program enhancements to see what our users are most interested in seeing implemented.

Alternate Solution
Use the Constituent Giving History report and select Other gift types only on the Gift Types tab.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Log into the sample Raiser's Edge database.
  2. Go to Tools in top menu bar > select User Options > click on Records tab > highlight Funds on left list > select Fund ID in bottom right drop-down > click Apply > click OK.
  3. Then go to Reports > Financial Reports > Other Gifts Report > double click on that to start a new one > set Gift date to Include all Dates > Click Preview > Minimize preview and report set-up.
  4. Return to Reports and then Financial Reports > Gifts-in-Kind Report > double click on that to start a new one > set Gift date to Include all Dates > Click Preview > Minimize preview and report set-up.
  5. Bring up the Report previews and compare the Fund columns. Both reports will show IDs in that column.
  6. X -out of report previews and close report set-ups.
  7. Return to Tools in top menu bar > select User Options > click on Records tab > highlight Funds on left list > select Description in bottom right drop-down > click Apply > click OK.
  8. Go to Reports > Financial Reports > Other Gifts Report > double click on that to start a new one > set Gift date to Include all Dates > Click Preview > Minimize preview and report set-up.
  9. Return to Reports and then Financial Reports > Gifts-in-Kind Report > double click on that to start a new one > set Gift date to Include all Dates > Click Preview > Minimize preview and report set-up.
  10. Bring up the Report previews and compare the Fund columns. The Gifts-in-Kind report will show Description in that column as set in User Options. However, the Other Gifts report will still show the Fund ID.
