Error: Application-defined or object-defined error- when adding a second Pivot table to a Pivot Report

When adding a second Pivot table to a Pivot report, users may receive an error and the second table is not saved in the report.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Click Reports>Pivot Reports>New
  2. Click the binoculars icon in the Select Query field
  3. Click Open
  4. Click Generate 
  5. Create report with Row Label = Current Category and Values = Member's Name
  6. Save the Pivot Report in Excel and close Excel (name it All Members)
  7. Navigate back to the Pivot Report in The Raiser's Edge
  8. Click Generate 
  9. Report opens with previously saved report contents
  10. Add a second pivot table, include columns from Data tab
  11. Create report with Row Label = Current Category and Values = Member's Name
  12. Save and close the Pivot Report in Excel
  13. Navigate back to the Pivot Report in The Raiser's Edge
  14. Click Generate
  15. Error: Application-defined or object-defined error
  16. The original pivot table is present
  17. The second pivot table that was added is gone
