Error: An error has occurred and the update cannot complete - when updating the MatchFinder Database

When trying to update the MatchFinder database, you may get following error:

At present, the automated MatchFinder database update is not functional.  

Customers whose Raiser's Edge environment is hosted by Blackbaud do not need to perform this update.  We perform the updates as a part of regular hosting environment maintenance.

If your Raiser's Edge environment is NOT hosted by Blackbaud, please browse to https://downloads.blackbaud.com.  There, provided you have an active subscription, you will find a link to download the MatchFinder database manually.

Once downloaded, complete the following steps in Raiser's Edge:
  1. Click Tools --> User Options --> File Locations
  2. Make a note of the current location of the MatchFinder database then cancel out of the window
  3. Navigate in your environment to the location noted in step 2.
  4. Copy the newly downloaded MatchFinder database to the location - You may overwrite the old one if prompted.
