Error: Required field missing: Object when adding a PDF in the media Tab

When adding a PDF to the media tab of a constituent record, the error "Error: Required field missing: Object" pops up when trying to save and close the uploaded media.
This is resolved in Raiser's Edge 7.96 patch 3, applied to databases in Blackbaud Hosting Services in March 2017 and planned for download availability in April 2017. For further updates on releases as they become available, please see our Community Release page. 

OR 

You can save the PDF by following these steps:
  1.  Open a Constituent Record
  2.  Click the Media Tab
  3.  Click New Media
  4.  Select the radio button for Create New and select Adobe Acrobat Document, Click OK
  5.  In the Documents window that opens, select the PDF that you wish to upload
  6.  Enter Required information
  7.  Double click the lower area of the Media where the PDF lives to open up Adobe
  8.  Close Adobe after it opens
  9.  Click "Save and Close"
  10.  File saves just fine.

 

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Open a Constituent Record
  2. Click the Media Tab
  3. Click New Media
  4. Select the radio button for Create New and select Adobe Acrobat Document, Click OK
  5. In the Documents window that opens, select the PDF that you wish to upload
  6. Enter Required information
  7. Click "Save and Close"
  8. Error: Required field missing: Object
