Error: ‘The section could not be loaded. Unable to load data list. Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.’ when viewing the segments tab of a marketing effort

When selecting the Segments tab on a Marketing Effort, you can view, add, edit, or delete the segments displayed in this data list.  When selecting this tab in this instance, the error message appears rather than any segments.

‘The section could not be loaded. Unable to load data list. Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.’
We're currently evaluating this issue for a fix in a future patch or service pack.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Go to Marketing and Communication functional area
  2. Select Direct Marketing Efforts
  3. Select the Marketing Effort
  4. Go to Segments tab
  5. Observe error
