Error: Business unit's amount cannot exceed its application applied amount

When changing the application on a gift that is applied to a commitment to a regular donation and it contains an appeal, this error shows in a Revenue update batch.  This only occurs if the Appeal has business units associated with it.
Download and install the latest service pack, which contains all fixes from previous service packs. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the service pack. 

Workaround:Remove the appeal from the transaction

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Create a recurring gift with an appeal
  2. Add a payment and post it
  3. Create a new Revenue Update batch
  4. Bring up the payment from above
  5. Change the application from the recurring gift to be a donation
  6. Enter the adjustment date, reason, post status
  7. Validate
  8. See error
