The three main categories for Attendance are:
  1. Attended Class
  2. Absent Unexcused
  3. Excused Absence
Editing Categories and Reasons requires the Attendance Manager role.

To add a Category:
  1. Select onRecord from your persona drop down menu.
  2. From the Settings drop down menu, select Attendance.
  3. Navigate to the Attendance Types tab.
  4. Click the Add Category button.
  5. At this menu, the Category field will be the name of the Category.
  6. For Status, select Active if you want this Category to be available to teachers.
  7. Fill out a Reason (see below) and click Save & Close to save the Category.
Note: At least one reason must be filled out when creating a Category in order to save it.
To add a Reason:
  1. Select onRecord from your persona drop down menu.
  2. From the Settings drop down menu, select Attendance.
  3. Navigate to the Attendance Types tab.
  4. Next to the Category that you want to add a Reason for, click the Add Reason button.
  5. A new Reason section will appear under the selected Category, which can be edited from this page by clicking on the field you want to edit.
    • Reason: The name/description of the reason.
    • Active: Whether the Reason is in use
    • Faculty Access: Determines if teachers have the ability to use this Reason. If set to No, only the Attendance Manager will have access.
    • Excused/Unexcused: Whether an Absence is Excused or Unexcused.
Note: New Reasons cannot be added to the Attended Class category.
 
To delete a Category/Reason, click the Red X next to the Category/Reason.
 
Note: Once a Reason has been used, the Category and Reason will not be able to be deleted. An Attendance Manager will have to remove all uses of the Reason to delete the Reason, or the use of every Reason under a Category to delete a Category.
