Headquarters was designed for organizations with multiple stores that need to see what is happening throughout the entire chain. It is used to create, manage, and track the various stores' information on a global, regional, or local level. It allows for an entire multi-store enterprise to be managed in a single office. 

Headquarters is installed only on the computer at the head office. It allows that office to control and share data with the entire enterprise, and it sets policies and procedures for each store to follow and enforces those rules for the entire store chain.
